# Document classification / Topics

DynaQ enables to save queries as so-called 'Topics'. Thus, a topic is a bunch of parameters/criterias that describe a specific concept. The available criterias are all things DynaQ offers to specify a query: Search terms, facets, contextualization and the weighting of all these aspects, adjustable with sliders. A topic gets a name also.

Such a topic is also a kind of a classifier: DynaQ gives several possibilities to show the documents that belong to one or more topics.

To create a topic, specify your criterias in the regular faceted search. You can see if your criterias corresponds your needs with the result list. Now open the 'Topics' in the DynaQ menu. You can save the current searching query as topic with the 'Create new from current query' button (1). Just give it a name.

For editing an existing topic, you can load the topic criterias into the current open faceted search view. Save or cancel your modifications after editing (2). Delete a topic with the according button (3).

As [described](https://git.opendfki.de/reuschling/dynaq/-/wikis/Contextualization), you can add topics as contextualization aspects into the faceted search view. You can choose between a single relevance slider for one topic (4) or an orthogonal slider for two contrary topics (5). Documents that belong/are classified to a topic are marked, e.g. inside the birdeye view (8).

You can [cluster](https://git.opendfki.de/reuschling/dynaq/-/wikis/Clustering) the documents that currently matches the criterias of a topic (6). Further, you can visualize the number of matching documents inside a [timeline](https://git.opendfki.de/reuschling/dynaq/-/wikis/Topic%20timeline) (7).
